Does anyone have experience setting up darts training and coaching
clinics? Our league would like to set up something of this nature as
another way of recruiting new players. We also plan to setup some
in-house darts leagues as a way of helping some players that don't have
confidence in there skills work up to joining league darts and local
tourneys. We also plan to build up a youth darts program.

Any ideas ( theories ) on structuring fun activities, instructional
material, drills, videos, maybe some promotional posters (other items
as well) or anything else of value would be greatly appreciated. We are
also looking for Darts Pros who might be touring the Western USA
(California in particular) that would be interested doing some
exhibitions.

I'm really working on my darts New Years Resolutions:

Any ideas would be helpful.....
What was the most helpful darts tip you have ever been given?
What was the least helpful darts tip you have been given?
Did you make the most progress at darts working on your own or with
coach/mentor?

I'm brain storming right now so any comments would be helpful.....

The most helpful tip I was given was to make sure I drank enough to calm
the nerves. I am a truly awful player in a competitive match if I have
not had a few pints.

Chong_Dak,
Thanks for the reply! Every little bit helps! My motives for the clinics
and coaching are to:

To get rank beginners to come and play darts at the local bars.

Learn the basic rules and techniques need to play any game of darts.

Start some inhouse darts leagues at various bars around the county.

Build up the confidence of some "garage / basement" players enough
to join league or tourney play.

Convince some reluctant soft-tip players that they are competent enough
to play at in steel tip leagues.

Convince some of our current players that it's good to develop their
games to a higher level, and mentor new players.

These are my basic goals, but I hope to see other benefits as well.
